Shoe care

How to Take Care of Your Shoes

Change shoes often, if possible several times a day. It is important that your shoes get a chance to dry between wear; this way they stay in better shape.

Remove dirt and stains as soon as possible and use care products suitable for the material.

Dry your shoes in room temperature (leather does not like too much heat).

After summer or winter season it pays off to give your shoes a proper care treatment:

Leather

Remove dirt and stains with damp cloth; with mild soap dissolvent if needed.

Use protective leather cream to ensure leathers longevity. Cream moisturizes leather and allows it to breathe. Wax-based shine products give leather a good shine, but can cause leather to dry out if used on a regular basis.

Use dry soft cotton cloth to apply cream or wax. Spread evenly in small circles and use product sparingly: leather absorbs what it needs and excess cream or wax takes longer to dry. Allow to dry for a couple of minutes. To bring leather to a shine use soft shoe brush or dry cloth and quick back and forth strokes.

Suede and Split Leather

Wipe dry dirt off with soft sponge. Metal brush can be too harsh for suede or split leathers. It pays off to remove stains right away as they appear, then you can do it simply by brushing material lightly. You can try water and mild soap dissolvent for stains that cannot be removed with sponge. Try first in an invisible area of the shoe and be extra careful with light colour materials.

You can protect suede and split leather with care products (aerosols or liquids) suitable for the material. Consult the shop where you have bought your shoes from in order to find the right product. Pay attention to the products userÔøΩs instructions and try first in an invisible area of the shoe. Clean the shoes first and apply care product after that.

Nubuck

Wipe dry dirt off with soft sponge. Metal brush can be too harsh for nubuck. It pays off to remove stains right away as they appear, then you can do it simply by brushing material lightly. You can try water and mild soap dissolvent for stains that cannot be removed with sponge. Try first in an invisible area of the shoe and be extra careful with light colour materials.

You can protect nubuck with care products (aerosols or liquids) suitable for the material. Consult the shop where you have bought your shoes from in order to find the right product. Choose care productÔøΩs colour to match the colour of the upper material of your shoe in dark colours. On light colour nubucks use neutral. Pay attention to the products userÔøΩs instructions and try first in an invisible area of the shoe. Clean the shoes first and apply care product after that.

Synthetic Materials

Synthetic materials are water resistant. You can wipe off dirt and stains with damp cloth, no other care is needed.
